The stretch mark camouflage technique is a deep skin treatment that has been around for about 7-8 years. According to our industry, it will last 5-6 years or more. How long the scar camouflage treatment will last depends on how precisely aftercare instructions were followed.
A touch-up may or may not be necessary after 5-6 years. Again, aftercare is critical. Take into consideration that as skin ages, there is less elasticity and melanin production which can affect your stretch mark camouflage retention
Is stretch mark camouflage safe?
In most cases, yes. If the stretch marks are lighter than the surrounding skin, it doesn't matter what skin tone you are. We can treat skin types I-IV on the Fitzpatrick scale. The only thing to consider is the risk of keloid scarring, which is more prominent in darker skin types. An in-depth consultation will be performed to determine the correct treatment.
Does stretch mark camouflage hurt?
The Stretch Mark Camouflage Tattoo procedure is a penetrative skin procedure, so a small amount of discomfort will be experienced. Usually, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the most painful), most clients experience a 3 or 5. In most cases, the use of a numbing agent is an option.
