What's the best way to treat a scar?

What's the best way to treat a scar? Scarring is an unpleasant reminder of trauma and pain through elective surgery or an emergency procedure. Some scars are apparent, and this can cause significant emotional distress for many people.

The effectiveness of the scar treatment all depends on the scar's location, size, and texture which all play an essential part in the healing process. Keeping this in mind, what are your options?

Microneedling: Microneedling is non-invasive, unlike most laser treatments and chemical peels; while respecting the skin's uppermost layer, micro needling initiates a healing cascade at the dermal-epidermal junction that prompts the production of healthy new cells. While microneedling may not be a complete solution for your surgery scars, it remains as a great option for improving skin texture and quality as it works on the dermal layer to stimulate collagen production.

Inkless Scar Treatment: This gentle treatment can be used on most parts of the body to correct the appearance and texture of surgical scars. The treatment works with the body's natural healing process as tiny needles inject a blend of serums and vitamins into the affected area, stimulating the production of collagen, elastin, and melanin and helping to firm, smooth, and tone the skin as it heals from the "mini-trauma."

Scar Camouflage: Is an excellent treatment for reducing the appearance of surgical scars; this treatment is often used after our inkless treatment which stimulates the regeneration process beneath the skin to promote healthy texture. When needed, the scar camouflage technique is the last process which is highly effective in "coloring in" the scar. Carefully selected colored pigments are implanted into the skin that effectively mutes the scar and blends it seamlessly into the surrounding skin.

Treatments usually take 1+ hours depending on the size of the scar. The number of sessions are ususally determined during an in depth consultation, however most scar need 2-4 sessions for best results. Sessions are usually every 6-8 weeks depending on how your body heals. Most clients express a pain level in a scale from 1-10 with 10 being most painful about a 3.
